Are Holen (July 18, 1945) is a M.D. and Ph.D. and is currently professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.〔(The Facultys of Medicine's leadership ) 〕 He specializes on stress psychiatry, and has done scientific research on meditation. In addition to having a medical degree, he has studied psychology and is a trained psychotherapist.
